History

Our history :

Velifrance is the original name of our company. Pascal Rossignol created the company in 1992, after spending 3 years in Gluing Research and Development for the 1992 America's cup, with half time in sail gluing research at the CNES (French Space Agency) and half time for the Défi Français (Semi-finals of the challenger, 3rd).

Consequently to 1992 and 1995 America's cup, season after season Velifrance developed Sail-cloth, Machines and gluing systems for sail making world-wide.
Pascal Rossignol also worked for the French Agencies ( Spatial Agency and Army Naval Division), with a small structure which adapts to each major project.

The main objective is to improve quality and reduce manufacturing costs.
During the past 10 years we have invested in our custom machines and products. We designed complete line and factory for sail-cloth manufacturing.

As a result of our own developments on glue, machines and patches, Rossignol Bonding System was born. At the present time our products are used in a number of successful series, from 420 to Maxi Catamaran for the Race. We are well experienced for specific problems and projects were human engagement, open-mindedness and creativity are required to find innovative solutions in front of heavier company organizations.

The purpose of our technologies is simple:

	To simplify the construction of traditional sails by eliminating all unnecessary and costly operations, organize and automate the production.
	To eliminate all distortion, and to preserve the shape of the sail.
	To reduce the sail's weight while improving its resistance.

To achieve this purpose, our Philosophy is clear:

Combine sail making experience with an industrial approach in order to develop new tools and machines for better profitability.
